Scoopy, loopy, doopy!

Ok, first off..... My darling boy is so big already. Awwww......

Got to get that off my chest. Ha.

He's such a funny little boy. One day, while he was sitting on his booster chair, waiting for lunch to be serve, he exclaimed "Didi put STRAPEY!"

"Huh? What pi? What did you put?"

"Strapey!" he pointed to the seat straps which he had buckled over his tummy. I just laughed and wondered why he called it that.

During snack time, I asked him what he wanted to eat. "Loopy." was the reply. What pi again??

He meant fruit loops. Haha.

The next day, he asked for grapey. When he wanted water, he asked for his cuppy. He was adding an extra 'y' to every word that he knew ended with the 'b' and 'p' sound. I thought it was so hilarious. But he was quite serious over his pi-s.

He was on the swing at the playground when he started shouting anxiously. I couldn't make out what he was saying. It sounded like "STOPEE STOPPPEEEEE!"

Then it hit me.'Stopy' means 'stop'! And I was right. He just wanted to join his sister at the slide. Ha. Funny boy.

For a few days, when he needed help, he would say 'beebo beebo', somewhat like the ambulance. I have no idea why because I hardly ever make that sound and I don't think I ever explained to him what an ambulance is and why it makes that sound.

He didn't make the sound for fun too.

When I was washing his hair one day, soap got into his eyes. He squinted and spluttered. "Ouch pain pain! Eyes pain pain... Beebo beebooooo. Pain painnnn!"

Funny right? Ha.

Also, he counts in a loop. Still.

He goes "Unn... tu... tri.... fo.... fai... sik.... ehwen...eh.... ay... ten.... ehwen... eh...ay.... ten... ehwen... eh... ay... ten...ehwen...."

Because he cannot pronounce 'seven' and 'eleven' properly, so they both sound like 'ehwen'. After 'ehwen' is always 'eh'! :p

He is getting really bossy these days too. I suspect he learnt that from his sister. Tsk tsk.

Yesterday, while on a walk, he saw some kids chasing birds. He said sternly "CAN. NOT. catch bird. Bird PAIN PAIN!"

When he saw 2 pigeons perched on the lamppost, he had to shout at them "BE. CAREFUL!"

When he saw a poster of a naked baby holding a toilet bowl in a public toilet, he told the 'baby' off. "Baby CANNOT hold toilet! Dirty dirty!" and fumed. He was very angry indeed. :D

He hates to have his teeth cleaned. Once when he saw me going towards him with the towel for cleaning teeth, he turned over on his front and said "Didi die." and remained motionless.

Oh, I have to talk about his love for food. When he loves his food (he likes most everything), he can eat an unbelievable amount. For instance, he once ate 2 and a quarter Mcdonald's hotcakes + one muffin (from the big breakfast) + one full cup of milk for breakfast. If he was served bread and bread, he can usually eat 2 slices. If it's chicken bao, he can eat 2 or more.

For the dinners at Thai Pan during our staycation, he wolfed down one full bowl of rice each time, complete with lots of meat and vegetables.

He also eats an astonishing wide variety of food. His ever favorite is mushrooms. But he also loves tomatoes and capsicum, even in the raw. The other time, we were at a bbq. We let him try cocktail sausages, chicken wing, fried beehoon, fishballs.... but all he wanted was the raw cherry tomatoes and capsicum from the salad. He managed to amaze some people there. If we don't stop him, he should be able to eat one big bowl of cherry tomatoes in a sitting. His record is, erm, 12?

Well, he even eats the apricot kernels (南北杏) in the soups. Really, who eats those?

And that's how my boy is like. It's a joy to be around him everyday. Love him so much. :)
