Mid Autumn party at Botanic gardens

I really miss my childhood. I have a lot of cousins around my age and every mid autumn festival, somebody (usually my mum) would organise a huge gathering at some park. The whole lot of us kids would be playing with lanterns, candles and eating mooncakes in the dark.

They would be lots of yummy food brought by the uncles and aunties. We always had a blast playing together.

I've always wished my kids would grow up with fond memories of such gatherings too. But alas, they are not so fortunate to have a group of close cousins. So I'm really glad I have my mummy kakis. :)

It was potluck picnic at the Botanic gardens. Very nice place I must say. And the weather was quite perfect.
Dee arrived 1st, we got there shortly after, and decided we should just start the picnic. Ha.

She brought A LOT of fruits. Strawberries, blueberries, dragonfruit, guava, grapes, and even a big pomelo! I brought kong bak bao, again. Haha.

Then Audrey's family came. The 3 families chomped and chomped. By the time we're done, there were only 5 baos left. Ha.
One uncle gave the kids bread to feed the fishes and terrapins.

Would you look at my boy's belly? I might be overfeeding him... *gulpz*
Jaime brought her dog, Cookie Girl, which all the kids loved!
Initially, the kids roamed around the vast field. Then, Jaime's family sat on the slope to eat. Mandy and Barry wanted to follow. Very soon, all the kids were hooked on running up and down the slopes.
First, stand in a row.... Listen for the 1, 2, 3....
Then... RUN!
Again! Again!
They have no fear! Even when their faces get distorted during the run!
Hilarious isn't it?

AGAIN!!!! And more kids joined in.
Awwww, they look so adorable, standing in a row.
More pictures of happy kids!
We tried to play frisbee but the kids (particularly mine!) kept hogging the frisbee.
Barry kept going "Didi throw! Didi throw!" but there'll always be taller kids in front of him, so he ended up running up and down the slopes with the frisbee in his hand. Very funny.
Spectators
We celebrated Jac's birthday too! The strawberry shortcake was delicious!
Got dark. Out came the lanterns
Then, we played bubbles

And choo choo train

We played a few games. 老鹰抓小鸡, London bridge and some flying, spinning, glowing, colourful thingy. Ha. The kids loved them.

It was a wonderful outing and I'm guessing there'll be many more of them to come. :)
